Lets start with a love you a ritual:

Activity one: (20 minutes)
Math: Artwork Borders and Frames:
Children use glue and various materials to make a patterned frame for any picture they want.
For this activity you will need popsicle sticks for frame (if available) if it’s not available please feel free to use anything to make the frame, the easiest would be a paper cut out in a frame shape suitable for the picture you choose. You will also need stickers, colored paper stripes, beads, crayons, glue sticks and markers.
Beginning: Ask your child if they know what a picture frame is and
listen to what they say. Show the child what a picture frame looks like.
Tell your child, ‘Today for this activity we are going to make a pattern picture frame.’
Middle: Comment on your child's work and how they are placing their items on the frame.
Encourage him/her to describe what they are doing and the pattern they are making.
You can also make your own pattern and describe it by stating how your pattern looks like.
Use words such as: pattern, every other one, frame, border, design, decoration, alternate, another, around, first, next, second.
End: Allow your child to write their name and find a place to place their picture.
Give your child 5 minutes warning and clean up together.
Activity two: (10 minutes)
Literacy:
Rhyming game: Tell your child that you will be playing a game and when it becomes so hard you can say FREEZE
and choose a new word or action.
Beginning: start by asking your child what rhyming words sound like? Listen to what they say and add your rhyming words and say, rhyming words are words that end the same just like how you said yummy and mummy.”
Middle: Tell your child they can start with a word and you have to say a word that rhymes with it and vice versa.
You can add actions to this game by saying a word then clapping.
Remind your child that he/she can call out “FREEZE!” (or any word you come up with) to pick a new word or action.
End: Five minutes before ending the game give your child a warning to have them prepared.
Activity Three
Fine motor skills: (10 minutes)
Use small Lego pieces to build structures with your child. Encourage your child to pull them apart from each other
when they need support. Let your child guide you to what and how they want the structure to be built.
